Odom May Not Be Ready For Opening Night

Lakers Forward Lamar Odom is taking longer than expected to recover from shoulder surgery and may not be ready until mid November. Odom is an excellent fantasy player when healthy, but over the past few seasons has had numerous injury problems. Over the offseason Lakers GM Mitch Kupchak has been under pressure to make a move, but has leaned on the crutch that had the Lakers been healthy last season they would have a been a 50 win team. So now the Lakers not only haven't made any big changes over the summer, but aren't healthy either. That's bad news for anyone hoping that Kobe Bryant stays in the Purple and Gold armor.

With this news you should bump Odom down about 10 spots on your draft list, which would put him around #50 overall by my estimation. For the first few weeks while Odom is out Luke Walton should have some added value, so it may be worth taking a flyer on him late in your draft.

After some last minute recruiting due to an owner dropping out my experts league draft is ready to draft tonight once again. I will be posting the results here, so keep an eye open for that.
